Why do you guys keep saying Rich? I thought it was Rick?

My Thoughts on the Finale:
Sassy: During the final 5 Immunity Challenge, Sassy was hopelessly on the outs with the remaining players. She antagonized Joe and Kurtis and ignored Rich for the most part. It was interesting to see that she and Zavi had already kinda squashed the beef between them as he was the only one being sorta nice to her - but overall it was really hard to watch them gang up on her the way they did. My impressions of her changed continuously throughout this game: She started as someone I was planning on watching closely, then I lost interest in her and her anti-social antics on Aguila. After some stellar moves in saving Bryan and then taking out TQ, she piqued my interest, but then lost it again after the merge where she started mimicking Jacob and bullying Cody for not voting how she wanted after SHE VOTED FOR HIM. After Jacob left, I started respecting her more and I think she started to come into her own. She went from being a bossy and self-centered control freak to a lovable underdog who fought her way to a strong finish. She won immunity at final 6 and after how she bossed that challenge, I finally saw her as a female player of equal caliber to that of Renee from iS: Congo.
Side Note: As someone who got the boot live over Skype myself with no supprt (Tomas could only type), I really felt horrible for Sassy the entire time. What was worse for her was that she failed miserably at the IC and she saw it coming all along and there was nothing she could do to save herself. She actually added me on Skype and texted me the whole time. I wanted to say something more to encourage her, but I had to keep neutral as a host should.
Zavi: There were times I wished that he would show more of himself and what was truly going on in his mind. He was a little too inactive for my liking, but there was an ever-present likability to him - yes, even during the emergence of the dark Zavi. I don't get why some people hated on him for disliking Sassy. Joe and Kurtis constantly tried to set him and Sassy up to feud with one another and Sassy did not help things by being antagonistic at times. If you look at it from his perspective he was not really in the wrong... only misguided. Zavi actually played a very underrated game. Sandy, Tucker and myself were in agreement in our assessment after Sassy was voted out that, had Kurtis not won final 4 immunity and been taken out like Joe wanted, Zavi stood a legit chance of winning the whole game. Joe pissed so many people off, that people were more prone to vote for Zavi over him. Jacob liked him, as did Sassy on her way out; John got to know him on Serpiente and might have voted for him to win and Kurtis might have given his vote to Zavi if he sat on the jury. Zavi is actually a really nice guy and his jury video is a strong case for why people should learn to love him.
Final TC:
I cannot say I am shocked at Kurtis' cockiness and disregard for the jury at all. Sure, I thought he had a little Todd Herzog finesse in him, but this has been the way he has talked about these people throughout his confessionals and only now are they starting to see the real Kurtis. That, to me, is proof of how badly he managed to dupe every single one of the jurors. He suckered them all into falling blindly for his charm and, smarminess aside, is worthy of their respect for doing so. After the last few videos he posted, I think he enjoyed the game and the people a little more than he lets on. I think he is likable deep down, so I hope he sticks around in the alumni hangout next season.
Joe has basically given up on winning, according to his confessionals (and obviously evidenced by his answers). He played a smart game, but he just lacks the conviction and balls to win a jury over and that is a shame. If you look at his journey through this game, he did a complete 180 since those first virtually invisible rounds on La Arana. I never expected him to run the game the way he did, but I just feel like he comes across as a little insincere a lot of the time. I think Jacob and Sassy are being a little harsh on him for wanting to disown him as a friend over an internet game. It is almost as if they strongly feel like it was his duty to roll over and die for them so that they could walk to the end instead. I hope they can patch things up with him after the dust clears...
Rich... wow... I hope he has a thicker skin than he lets on when he enters this alumni area. He tried hard to rally the troops throughout this game and had an enthusiasm about him, but he wining and begging fro tribe swaps and his wining and begging for people to throw challenges (Final 5) so that he could win just rubs me the wrong way. He could have actually stolen the win at this tribal council - ala Natalie White - if he just wasn't such a sad-sack most of the time. He seems really nice and friendly IRL and I think he is smarter than even he realizes (He was the only one sitting there at the final three that actually noticed the uncanny similarities between Jacob and NaOnka), but all of that gets washed away in a torrent of his own insecurity. I think he was worthy of a few more loose MVP votes here and there throughout the series, though.
The Jury:
What I am enjoying about this jury is that it is different than the last two. Congo had a jury of smart players (none of whom were bitter) who all respected the game enough to give Sam a chance to earn their votes regardless of the battle lines drawn by the USA vs The Rest of the World twist. Sam lost for being a soulless game-bot devoid of personality, while Tomas' likability carried him through to the win. Bali had a bunch of players who all seemed to have made their minds up before the final tribal council and the overall vibe I got was that the final tribal council was more of a formality to them. It was a mostly indifferent jury. This time, the jury seems mostly butt-hurt.
I was a fan of Cody for most of the season, but his jury speech did not do him any favors in winning over any new fans. I get that he was angry with people who talked shit about him all of the time. Nobody wants to vote for that, to be honest - but for crying out loud, dude - put that shit aside and ask a question that will help you see some merit in at least one person's game-play. Sassy is also irrationally angry at Joe, as is Zavi... and most probably Jacob as well, for doing what they were trying to do as well: stab people in the back and make it to the end.
I think TJ's lack of bitterness and lack of self-riteousness is commendable, as is Bryan's respect for the game. Billy is once again showcasing his class and even-keel and John is surprisingly anal and long-winded in his quest for an answer that consists of the same wavelength of logic as his. Not the best final tribal council, but it is still a pretty great one.
That's it for now. Let us see how this all plays out...

Speaking OF RicK(h), this gave me a nice laugh this morning
So he basically just said that he played a different game by being dragged to the end instead of being voted out? I can't with this man, he better get his life and figure out how to make it look like he put some effort in this game.
I wish someone would tell me they played a different game by not getting voted out....no shit sherlock, thats why you're at the finals.. smh, i need more coffee to read his foolishness

jacob Avatar Aug 29, 2013 21:07:32 GMT 10 jacob said: Okay, so I'm sorry to be fashionably late! But I've been playing this other game called Stars (Yay I reached the mid-point of the game and actually was running it until my nomination today) That's not the only reason though, because I've had plenty time to cum on and do my jury questioning, well - statement.
-_-
Also I have no idea how someone who quit can be so upset about the final 3 outcome....like wut? really?

Is it because Stars is paying him? So he has to be there... it's a free game (sigh)

It's hard because it has to be small talk until the game is done, but she is lovely. I am still rooting for her.

I just read Jacob's jury speech or whatever you want to call it. I actually call it him being an egocentric little baby. This kid must be bi polar or something because he goes from one end of the spectrum to the next in 10 seconds flat. First he's a badass who could've won the game and him being a little bitch and quitting "changed" everything. Then he can't be friends with Joe anymore because he's "evil inside"? IT'S A FUCKING GAME. Basically what he and others are saying is that Joe played with their emotions and mind fucked them by being their ~friend while also screwing them over. These people need to get the fuck over themselves, and it's kinda sad that I say that since the most entertaining people in this season are also the most delusional.

Oh and Cody enjoyed Jacob's speech which kinda speaks volumes about how ridiculous it is.
