Herro!!
It's been WAY too long of a game and I'm extremely glad that it's almost over... but before we pack up and call it a day, let me try to explain why I should be the winner, yes?
I came into cybermexico guns blazing. Trained myself by hot boxing in a smelly outhouse for 2 days to really get the feel of Mexico... paid for classes to teach me how to create the perfect onlinesurvivor(TM) vote.... and trained my body to be able to pee really quietly so that people wouldn't be able to hear while on skype... it all pays off in this moment!!
I am an "old school ORGer." You guys all knew this and didn't seem to think much of it, but I played waaaay too many of these back in the day and long ago have ditched the emotional connection to the games. I was willing to vote anyone out when I needed to and used social graces, strategy, and challenge wins (when I had to) to get to the end.
My partner was TQ. There was no way in the world I was voting him out, and the whole first half of my game was figuring out ways that he and I could have a shot at making it far together. Once the pairs were revealed nanoseconds into the game I decided I wanted to link up with another pair so that they heat wouldn't be on us later. Enter Jacob and Joe. Once TQ drunkenly blabbed himself out of the game, I was free to really get down to business, but the work I did cultivating relationships with Jacob and Joe (and in conjunction, their allies Billy, Rich, Sassy, and John) set me up very nicely going into the merge.
While I did lie to most of you the round I voted you out, I did so after explaining that I would work with ANYONE in the game as long as they remained logical and flexible. As soon as you let me know that there was someone in the game you refused to vote out, a red flag went up and I went to work marking targets. Every round I gave myself 2 or 3 people that I knew I needed out, most of the time because of their ability to beat me in jury, and made sure I lined up enough people to vote them out. I pretended to be voting with the opposing forces until the last minute (for the John vote, the Cody vote, the Billy vote, the Bryan vote...) so that I would be aware of any counter plan being hatched. As long as I remained a viable option for every single person in the game to work with, I knew I wouldn't be a target and that I would basically have free reign to assess and take out whoever I wanted to leave.
The final part was making sure that I could just back into dealings with the people that I blindsided. For instance, after voting out John I knew that I wanted to work with Sassy/Jacob further in the game... after taking out Cody, I still needed Rich and Billy to work with, and after each vote, I was able to assimilate myself back into good graces with the whole group. The way I was able to do this was to use other's emotions against them while remaining logical and flexible to work with whoever made the most sense.
ANYWAY, I'm sure you all have things to say, so I'll get to those. I'll leave you with a confessional I did during the first round that we merged. I feel that it kinda showcases the approach I took to the game and my ability to create a plan and stick with a target.
